StarGate Imports

Terms & Conditions

Effective 21 August 2026 · version 2026-08-21

This document describes how the service actually operates. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and should be before the service takes paying customers.

1Who we are and what this covers

StarGate Imports (“we”) operates a freight-forwarding service: we give you a US mailbox address in Doral, Florida, receive packages sent to it, consolidate them, ship them to Antigua by air or ocean freight, and deliver or release them to you. These terms cover that service and your use of this website.

By creating an account you accept these terms, version 2026-08-21. We record which version you accepted and when.

2Your account and your mailbox

You are issued a mailbox number (for example SG493118) that forms part of your US address. Packages must be addressed to that number. A parcel arriving without it can still be received, but it will be held as unidentified until we can attribute it, which delays it.

You must give accurate contact details and keep them current, and you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has access to it.

3Identity verification

We collect a government-issued photo ID when you register. We are acting as your agent with customs, and we are required to know who we are declaring goods for.

Your ID is stored outside the public web root and is served only to you and to our administrators through an authorising route. It is not shared with other customers, and it is not used for marketing. See the Privacy Notice for how long we keep it.

4Pre-alerts and declared value

A pre-alert tells us a package is coming. It is not required, but without one we cannot match a parcel to you on arrival and it may sit in our exception queue.

We ask for one figure: the price of the product. That is what we declare to customs. If a receipt in the parcel or a merchant invoice you upload shows a different amount, the receipt wins — it is the better record of what actually happened.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us. The merchant’s receipt is the authoritative record, and where it disagrees with what was declared we will raise a discrepancy and ask you about it before invoicing. Knowingly under-declaring value is customs fraud and we will not do it on your behalf.

5What we charge

Your invoice has exactly three parts:

  • Freight — priced from our published rate card for the method you chose: by weight for air, by volume for ocean. Some customers have a negotiated rate, which replaces the card. Rates are quoted in Eastern Caribbean dollars (EC$) and are never converted from US dollars.
  • Service fee — a flat charge per shipment covering receiving, handling, and consolidation at our Florida warehouse.
  • Customs duty — the Antigua & Barbuda rate for the commodity, applied to the landed value of your goods. We collect this and remit it to customs; we do not set it and we do not keep it.

We do not charge you for the value of your goods. The landed value shown on your invoice — your declared value converted to EC$ — is the figure customs duty is calculated from, so that you can check the duty line. It is not something you pay us.

Every invoice shows this breakdown in full, including a note explaining exactly how the freight figure was reached. Rates and duty figures can change; the figures frozen on your invoice are the ones that apply to that parcel.

6Prohibited and restricted items

Do not send anything you are not lawfully entitled to import, and do not send hazardous goods, live animals, perishables, currency, illegal drugs, weapons, or ammunition through our service. We may refuse, hold, or surrender to the authorities any parcel we believe contains such goods, and you remain liable for charges already incurred.

7Release, delivery, and collection

A parcel is released to you only after its shipment has cleared customs in Antigua. We will either deliver it to the address on your account or release it at our counter.

At the counter we check photo ID and record its type and last four digits. If someone else collects on your behalf we record who they are and their relationship to you. We may release a parcel while a balance is outstanding, at our discretion; doing so does not waive the debt, and the amount owed at the time of release is recorded.

8Loss, damage, and limits

We photograph parcels at intake and record visible damage. We are not the carrier that brought your parcel to our warehouse, and we are not responsible for damage that occurred before we received it — the intake photographs are the record of the condition it reached us in.

Where we are responsible for loss or damage in our custody, our liability is limited to the declared value of the goods or the freight charges paid, whichever is lower, unless a higher figure is agreed in writing in advance. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or missed occasions.

Claims must be made within 14 days of delivery or release.

9Delays

Air and ocean schedules, customs clearance, and weather are outside our control. Transit estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and a delay does not entitle you to a refund of freight already incurred.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force for your account is the one you accepted at registration until you accept a newer one. Material changes will be notified to the email address on your account.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Antigua & Barbuda, and the courts of Antigua & Barbuda have jurisdiction over any dispute.
